Alumni Association Constitution<\/strong>
\nArticle III – Membership<\/strong><\/p>\n

Section I<\/p>\n

Membership of the Association shall consist of Full members, Life members, Associate members and Honorary members.<\/p>\n

Section II<\/p>\n

Full membership shall be granted by the Association through the membership committee to graduates, former students, and former faculty members of the Nova Scotia Teachers College[*] upon payment of an annual membership fee.<\/p>\n

Section III<\/p>\n

Life Membership may be granted by the Association through the Membership Committee upon the recommendation of the Membership Committee and approval of a majority of those members present at an Annual Meeting upon payment of the Annual Membership fee to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. those who are receiving a full service pension under the Nova Scotia Teachers Pension Plan;<\/li>\n
  2. those who have been graduated fifty (50) years or more from the Nova Scotia Teachers College;<\/li>\n
  3. the President of the Association upon his\/her election to that office.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Section IV<\/p>\n

    Associate Membership shall be granted by the Association through the Membership Committee, upon payment of an annual membership fee to:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. any person in close association with education in the province of Nova Scotia;<\/li>\n
    2. husbands and wives of members of the Association.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Section V<\/p>\n

      Honorary Membership may be granted by the Association through the Membership Committee upon the recommendation of the Membership Committee and approval of a majority of those members present at an Annual Meeting to any person who has made a significant contribution to education in the province of Nova Scotia.<\/p>\n

      Section VI<\/p>\n

      The rights, privileges and responsibilities of the membership in the Association shall be extended as follows:<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. to Full and Life members the full rights, privileges and responsibilities of membership;<\/li>\n
      2. to associate members and Honorary members the full rights, privileges and responsibilities of membership except in matters of voting and holding office.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        *Article 1 of the constitution includes, “The name Nova Scotia Teachers College shall include its predecessors, namely, the Normal School, Nova Scotia Normal College, et al.<\/i>“<\/span><\/p>\n
